Flavours of Andhra in Bangalore


Dastkar Andhra, Dastkar Andhra Marketing Association (DAMA) & dāram brings exquisite cotton handlooms of Andhra in a variety of fabrics, dupattas, sarees and pre-shrunk garments for women and men. In its second combined exhibition in Bengaluru DAMA and dāram presents vibrant colours, subtle textures and exciting hand block prints from 12th – 15th June 2013.

DAMA, an association dedicated to Andhra handloom cottons, will showcase Andhra’s culture in its range of colours, and prints. The range includes fabrics and dupattas in bright colours, stripes and checks, plains with zari and thread borders, natural dyes and kalamkari prints designed for contemporary tastes and modern lifestyles. Sarees will be available in a variety of borders, khadi and kalamkari designed and produced exclusively by DAMA.

dāram brings its exciting range of garments for women and men. dāram is Hyderabad’s exclusive cotton handloom garment store. dāram garments are made from pre-shrunk hand woven fabrics and come in a variety of colours, textures and hand-block prints. The range of garments includes long kurtas, short kurtas, salwars, churidhars & dupattas for women and kurtas, short kurtas and shirts for men.

Andhra’s rich cotton handloom tradition, Dastkar Andhra’s extensive research in natural dyeing and the age old art of block printing from Gujarat & Rajasthan manifest in this collection of classic, well cut and finished garments. The prints are done on famed Andhra khadi. Natural dyed, hand block printed in Ajrakh, Dabu & Bagru techniques on khadi the printed range is a collaboration of best hand processes of India. Further all the garments are pre-shrunk and guarantee the handloom comfort.
